For more transparency: wordings and functionality → suspended users

Pitch

I'm pretty sure that's not new, but I couldn't find a similar note, bug report or feature request so far. Feel free to link it, thanks! Sorry for the redundant content, if that is the case.

I noticed randomly that a user from another instance [Server 1], who is NOT suspended, but got suspended only of the instance I'm on [Server 2], has the message "Account suspended" in its profile (at my Dashboard of Server 2). The Account is blocked and there is also no way for any other interactions. Then I opened the profile manually by URL, so that the other instance [Server 1] is called in my browser and then I realized, that the user is still there and NOT blocked or suspended.

Put another way: When a User of an external instance [Server 1], who got suspended by the instance-admins of a different instance [Server 2], the users of Server 2 get the note "Account suspended", even though the account is probably not and effectively suspended by the admins of the original instance [Server 1]. That's a really confusing situation.

Suggestions:

  1. Make by language clear, that only your mastodon-instance has suspended that user (but the profile is still active) → Account suspended by your Mastodon-Instance {Domain}
  2. When the user is suspended by the origin mastodon-instance (so nobody in the fediverse can access this account anymore) → Account suspended by the original Mastodon-Instance {Domain}
  3. Add an URL to the profile, IF the user isn't suspended by the external/origin server.

Motivation

Transprency, be more precisely to the wordings.

Avoid confusing about the situation.

Came here to say this, and i like the suggestion.

i'd also like to see in my follow list an indication of follows suspended by my instance.
