[BUG] Switching between accounts is very slow and sometimes fails entirely

Current Behavior

I used the app with four different accounts.

After a few days, switching between these accounts either took a very long time (30 seconds to 1 minute) or failed entirely. There's no throbber or activity indicator in the UI to show that anything is happening during this time.

I would call up the drawer/panel for the accounts, tap one and just wait. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't.

I tried various things like closing the app and re-opening, clicking outside the drawer, long tap, but nothing made any difference.

Expected Behavior

Switching between accounts should of course work. If it works, it should take less than say 10 seconds. While the switching is taking place, some kind of indicator of activity in the UI would make it easier for the user to understand that it is in progress and will still complete.

Steps To Reproduce

1. Install App
2. Have four accounts
3. Try to move between them by holding the account icon bottom right and choosing another account

+1 Have 2 accounts. Both on the same instance. Can confirm slow or failing switch without indication what’s happening.
