[BUG] Screen never turns off in iOS 15.1 (bad for battery life and security)

Current Behavior

The iPhone screen doesn't appear to turn off when the Mastodon app is open.

I've noticed on several occasions that after I got back to my phone after 5-10 minutes, the screen was on and showing the Mastodon app, which was open when I last left it. I just tested this deliberately now, and indeed the screen didn't turn off while I had the Mastodon app open and didn't touch the phone for 5 minutes.

This doesn't happen with other apps, except when watching videos in fullscreen. The default timeout on iOS is 30 seconds.

Needless to say, this is terrible for battery life.

It's also terrible for security, since the phone doesn't get locked when away from it, as it normally does.

Expected Behavior

The screen turns off after a period of no user interaction lasting for the timeout duration specified in iOS settings.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Open the Mastodon app and navigate to the home timeline.
  2. Leave the phone untouched for 5 minutes.

Environment

- Device: iPhone SE
- OS: iOS 15.1
- Version: Mastodon for iOS v1.4.5 (144)
- Build: I assume this is 144
