It's in the app now. However the top and bottom remain the same.

The true black toggle was there since this issue opened

The main issue is it's not black enough.

Eg. The bottom bar, popup menus, compose area etc

So I guess we can only vote and wait?

Now that the redesign is seemingly complete, I think these color changes are still needed to create a better true dark mode

The compose button also needs a darker color too

Please note that, you should use light grey text on amoled mode and not full white. For example Discord uses full white text and on e.g. Samsung full white text randomly burms brown colored "ghost" text on screen. They never fixed that issue, so don't do same mistake. (speaking from experience, I have visible brown channel name, hamburger menu, clock, notification icons and bettery status) Even 5min on screen is enough during summer to get UI burned in.
