There used to be a tool a long time ago called [System State Analyzer](https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:H_JnHC_RgHYJ:https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askperf/2010/01/11/an-introduction-to-the-windows-system-state-analyzer/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ca) that used to do just this.
I'm pretty sure the changed blocks between any two disk images are available cheaply, the question is whether these can easily be associated back to the filesystem. I believe libvirt...
+1 for this (even if it's just a parametrized template for use with some other tool like `hi` or `stack`). Right now I don't really know what options I need...

Neither should `Alternative` depend on `Applicative`, but that's a rant for a different forum.

@dudebout You're right, it looks like niv uses a tarball. The `.git` folder that's causing an infinite loop seems to be the actual project I'm working on.
I wonder if that coincidentally works out to the same thing for stuff like `[]` or `Maybe`.
