Server tps and mspt on servers not running carpet

Is there someway for minihud to get tps and mspt numbers from the server, even without carpet installed? I just installed a paper fork on my raspberry pi, and would still love that functionality.

If there is a plugin that would send them, then yes.

I guess the best solution would be to port my Servux mod to a bukkit plugin, if it's even possible (or to what extent). But Servux is still also in a very early state so there isn't really much to port just yet, and the TPMS/MSPT data is not part of it yet either...
