Homescreen widget 4x1 uses too much space

Open femto-code opened this issue 5 years ago • 6 comments

I want to use the widget "time" with size 4 x 2 on my homescreen, but there is too much free space. In fact one row is occupied which can't be used for other content.

Would it be possible to make the widget size 4 x 1? I am pretty sure this would also work for the text content. Thank you in advance! Screenshot_20210204-104828_Trebuchet

I'm not sure what's happening here, I added the 4x1 widget to my home screen, it looks like the image above.

Could you click and hold on the widget, until the size frame appears, then take a screenshot and post here?

That's interesting - there is no 4x1 widget for me. 4 widgets are available: 4x3, 2x2, 4x2, 4x2. The one you're showing does not exist for me! Screenshot_20211208-214229_Trebuchet

So, the way these were designed, we have 4x2, 4x2, 2x1, 4x1. I'm not surprised, there are a few areas of the code with problems, which haven't been maintained in a while. Android feels 'high maintenance' to me

All those widgets exist, but they render incorrectly/unexpectedly on later versions
