[Feature Request] Option to save shared text to the same note

Open urmomsangus opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Issue When I share urls or text from a web browser, each time I share it creates a new note.

Describe the solution you'd like It would be nice that when text or URLs are shared to the app, either:

  • have an option to select which note to share it to (this is the more flexible and powerful option in my opinion)
  • or have the ability to select a default note for sharing to within the app settings
  • or have the app default to always sharing to whichever note is open (possibly add a toggle in settings to choose this behavior or the current behavior)

Additional context This would be useful for using the app like a bookmark manager where I want to save all URLs to one file, or if researching a certain topic and you want to share text and have it all go into the same note on the same topic.

Possibly related to #109

I want to give my sincerest appreciation for your app. It has come a long way since the first time I tried it last year.

This is actually an interesting idea. It may be difficult to let the user choose a note though, one had to make them selectable somehow and even then it could be challenging to find the correct note in a large collection of notes.

To dedicate a note in the settings (to collect all shared texts) would be an option, but sometimes one would like to create a new note instead?

  1. Maybe a mixture would be a solution, asking whether the new content should open a new note or be added to the dedicated note (if there is any). It is a bit laborious but it would definitively be doable.
  2. Or one could avoid the settings completely and ask whether it should create a new note, or if it should create/add to a collecting note. The first time the user answers with collecting note, it could create one and remember it for later sharings.
