[FR]: Custom background image for frontend

Open RetroAbstract opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Brief description of the feature request

This feature would allow the user to customize the frontend appearance of RSS Guard with image files.

This is how RSS Guard looks like right now with the nudus-dark skin applied:

1

If I wanted to have for example this image (which I resized slightly, added some blur to and darkened a bit) to be the background of my RSS Guard frontend, I could do so by browsing and selecting an image file in “Settings > User Interface > Icons & skins > Use custom background image”:

1

Which would then make RSS Guard look like this:

1

Use custom background image” would only apply to the frontend of RSS Guard as shown above. Text, drop-down menus and dialog windows would be unaffected by this feature and keep the look & colors the applied skin gives them.

Some image file formats which would be supported: .jpg, .jpeg, .png

Thanks!

Hey, there alrady was such a request and true is that implementing this is actually a LOT harder then it may sound.

Anyone who manages to implement this can contribute via PR.
