Describe the improvement
I have packages installed that are available through multiple installation sources, typically WinGet and Choclatey. I would prefer to use the same source for a package, but I simply cannot remember for each package which one I used last time. I think that sometimes the providers use somewhat different installer types, making the installations incompatible.
The enhancement would be that WinGetUI would remember this; eg by showing the last time the shown package was installed (from that source). Even nicer would be if it would be possible to recognize that it is the same package and available from multiple sources, showing me the last one used.
Describe how this improvement could help users.
the feature would be useful because:
- it would show the last update date
- it would be able to reduce the nr of available packages by 'removing' duplicates
- it would make installations more stable by using the same sources each time
Installed packages are already differentiated on the Discover Packages tab. Could this work as your identifier?
Source combination on the discover packages tab already has its own issue
