Allow forcing ipv4 or ipv6

Running this for a server that ends up resolving an ipv6 address for github. However ipv6 isn't properly configured on this subnet so I need to be able to force ipv4. Packages like curl or ssh allow for '-4' or '-6' args to specify which one to use.
