Chrome won´t download
I can´t download the buddy in any browser, as it accuses a virus, what can I do?
Same...
The last few days I've filed some "false positive" reports to get antivirus software to correctly identify this program as not a virus. If you are using Norton or Windows Defender theoretically if you update your antivirus then it will no longer be blocked.
If you are using something else, try updating your antivirus as well. If you still can't download, please let me know what antivirus software you are using and I'll see what the process is to ask them to fix this.
Hey had the same issue, 2 issues actually, I'm going to list the solutions:
-
After downloading chrome said the file is a potentially dangerous file and the only option was to reject it: Without clicking on the "Reject" button on chrome, I went to the downloads folder, copy the file (the name is something like "unconfirmedxxxx.crdownload"), pasted it and rename it to the correct filename
-
When trying to open the file, antivirus/window defender wont let me open it: Right click, properties, and flag the "Unblock" option.
I hope this helps somebody!
This is still happening. As long as this is a false positive, putting the exe in a zip file might help.
Edit: I was, for some reason, downloading an older version. The newest version downloaded without issue.
To further assure people, I ran this through virustotal.com and here are the results:

11/69 virus scanners detected an "issue", and I don't have faith in any of those 11 scanners. I also ran this through Windows Defender and Malwarebytes, neither of which had an issue. Chrome and Firefox are just being overzealous.
