Search Engines
Thanks for the app and support. My use case is scanning barcodes of products to see the ingredients, spurred by an alergy. I like seeing multiple engines, was not aware of these Open.. sites (in some other open databases like Map I contribute).
Took a local product which is not in the available engines and found it at https://incibeauty.com/en/search/k/5310001146894 . But when I tried to set "https://incibeauty.com/en/search/k/" as URL, it said not reachable and added "?content=" at the end. Do I do it wrong? I do not want to use separate app for this, would prefer to have this as search engine if possible.
note: That one uses barcode so is convenient. I noticed there are others that only allow image, at least thru webpage. Example https://incidecoder.com/decode-inci.
Thanks for using the app, and sorry for the late answer and the confusion.
I think you want to set "Open unknown data with URL" in the settings - not a forwarding URL. Should be the third last item in the list of settings.
If you put it your custom URL there, it should appear in the listing of search engines.
Thanks. I did try "Open unknown data with URL" and get that "?content=" at the end and "failed to connect" . I am not sure the link above works at all (that "k" part is not varible), but that is the one I had.
If you're seeing a "failed to connect" message, the forwarding feature is still enabled. Please check your settings and disable "Forward scans". This feature is meant to sent scans for remote processing to the given URL.
Forward scans is disabled. Maybe someone else will try the same link.
