Error playing from microphone?

When I try to use microphone as input device, I get an error, saying: ALSA lib pcm_hw.c:1822: (_snd_pcm_hw_open) Invalid value for card arecord: main:828: audio open error: No such file or directory

I used the exact same command that is posted in the readme, so I'm a bit confused Thanks in advance
