github based downloads of full releases
Since the availability of Google code downloads seems insecure on the long term Gentoo [1,2](and most probably other distros as well) are trying to avoid Google code downloads.
Unfortunately do the github based releases of gtkmm-utils not contain configure scripts. Will it be possible to provide such complete tarballs as the ones on google code also on github?

Hi Dominik,
Do you have information how many projects are actively depending on gtkmm-utils?

In the Gentoo tree it is only used by one project (referencer https://launchpad.net/referencer). However also this project released already a version without the gtkmm-utils dependency.
Thanks for your feedback. I propose that you remove gtkmm-utils from the distro then. I haven't touched it for years, and don't plan to, as I'm focused on other things.
