Feature Request: Vertical (print friendly) orientation for timeline

Open KennethJ-USC opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

I first saw this suggestion from this HN comment. This would be the keystone feature of your tool that would enable me to use it in a significant capacity (writing a non-fiction book, among other things). Presently, I'm weary of integrating this tool into my workflow because I may need to switch tools depending on the timeline shape I need - depending on space and content.

I can share more details/vision on this enhancement request as needed. I know I left this pretty open-ended in its current form.

I agree that something purely vertical would be very helpful; I thought about it a bit and came up with the doc view. Similarly I've had thoughts of an option to 'lock' the left side of the screen to the start of whatever event was in the middle of the screen, that way as you'd scroll you'd always have an event in view.

I'd be happy to hear what you (or others) think a vertical view should look like! I'm sure there's some creative way to show things with a limited width.
