Clarify project status

This project seems abandoned. Simple bugs haven't been remedied in years, and those fixes that did make it to master haven't been released since 2016.

https://github.com/AdamGleave/pytest-shard/ seems to address the same problem and works as well or better.

Perhaps this project should be archived?

This is indeed a pity. However the repo you are pointing too also carries the same risk. Why not having a project hosted at https://github.com/pytest-dev? This would trigger more people to adapt the usage to a "long-running" project.
