RPS 10.4.5.1 hangs with message stating Unexpected call to method or property access

Open delovelady opened this issue 8 years ago • 2 comments

Using Windows 10 64-bit, receiving "An error has occurred in the script on this page

Line 513 Char 6 Error: Unexpected call to method or property access Code 0 URL file:///C:/ProgramData/Random%20Photo%20Screensaver/data/js/monitor.js

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

If I answer Yes right away, it seems to be OK, usually. But if a few minutes pass before I see this and respond, the system will be hung for about 2 minutes - completely blank screen - and once it does return, performance is very sluggish for another minute or so. Then all is OK.

This happens after several images have been displayed by the screen saver.

Can anyone help with this? I had to revert to a base screensaver for the time being, as performance (when this happened) was much worse than described. Sometimes it will be as much as 15 minutes (no kidding) with a black screen and hourglass after clicking Yes on the above message.

Thanks!

It seems to be an issue with a video. Could you try running RPS without video extensions?

To disable videos go to Settings (Press S whilst RPS is running) > Media > Show advanced features... and remove all video extensions. You might need to remove %programdata%\Random Photo Screensaver\store.sqlite for it to force a reread of all files. Or deselect your source folders, select a different folder, run RPS and re-select your original folder.
