Are your images stored on a networked drive?

Did you get the same error with previous versions of RPS? I'd like to know whether it worked with 4.5.9.2 and breaks with newer versions?

no. Z letter is just a subst-ed local volume path

Could you try installing http://www.abscreensavers.com/abdownloads/rps/old/setup-rps4.5.9.2.exe and see whether it gives the same error?
