I would like to have schedule for automatic turn on/turn off monitor. I haven't look myself how to do this, but I think this should be possible.

My monitor works as a photo frame 24h during a day and there is no need to show slideshow during nights.

You might want to have a look at https://github.com/ukanth/monitores and see whether it does what you want. Please note I haven't tested it myself.
