Fade colors and cover art on song change

Open yannick9906 opened this issue 7 years ago • 5 comments

It would be great if the visualizer can change the colors and coverart smoothly. Sometimes it looks a bit ugly when the visualizer load the coverart and a white monstercat logo flashes in between.

I hope this can be made possible in some way.

My visualizer use to change bar colour before to the colour of the cover art, and it has stopped working for a while now. Added to that the settings bars dont work when moved.

@yannick9906 The reason you see the white monstercat logo in between songs is because that is the album art that is used while the new album art is being downloaded from spotify. If you would prefer that not to happen change in your rainmeter skins folder go to .\Monstercat-Visualizer@Resources\include\MeasureSpotify.inc find DefaultPath=#@#images\nocover.png which should be on line 33 and delete it.

@MicroKiller1 While the one issue is unrelated to this issue both those issues sounds like you did not install the plugins with the skin. Make sure to download the latest rmskin file which is currently https://github.com/MarcoPixel/Monstercat-Visualizer/releases/download/1.7.1/Monstercat.Visualizer.for.Rainmeter_1.7.1.rmskin and run rmskin installer.

As for the feature request doing animations in Rainmeter is not particularly easy and is CPU intensive. While @MarcoPixel gets the final say here I will say for such a minor improvement I don't think it is worth it.

I would love to implement color fading, but that needs to be tested first if it is working properly and if it is too CPU intensive.

I'm gonna look into it in the next few days if it is possible without major issues and limitations.
