Scope Likes only available if you submit your 'client for review'

Open chrisspiegl opened this issue 9 years ago • 8 comments

Looks like the 'likes' scope is only available if you submit your app to review by Instagram:

From the documentation (https://instagram.com/developer/authentication/#scope):

Note that in order to use these extended permissions, first you need to submit your app for review.

Did you guys got any solution for this? Thanks

@joaoreis81 the only solutions are to apply for their extra scope permissions or reverse engineer the Instagram private API (which is highly against their ToS). I'd suggest it would be easier just to apply for it with a convincing story.

instagram is hip to what we're doing with their API i dont doubt they did this specifically cause of these scripts, sucks to have to reinvent the wheel because of this

Just make up a story about why you need access to the API endpoints - I did, and after like a month or so with NO REPLY at all (or not even a confirmation acknowledging my request) they finally sent me an approval notice email...
