[Important] Improvement for user interface and features

Open naDevi opened this issue 3 years ago • 8 comments

It's quite annoying that sharing doesn't available between apps. see https://github.com/marchellodev/sharik/issues/9 (keep everything inside app)

  • Download percentage
  • Pause feature
  • Erase entire history and each (if erase then paused, corrupted sharing should removed)
  • When resume from pause and after restart then sharik need perform re-check about pending files about if it damaged or whatever, if then need re-copy again (you can implement that after)
  • If share same file from same location then ignore (if it already has in sharing history) (otherwise modify new file name on receiver's side e.g. file (2) )
  • Folder sharing support

About chat feature - enhance it as to use as usual chat app (means within a window)

See this (download and check) https://feem.io/#download (i'm talking almost about that)

@marchellodev can you tell, how long will take for you to implement that? ;) It means ETA :D

Hello, thanks for such amazing suggestions!

However, I'm not sure how much it will take me to implement all the features. Currently I am working on Sharik v3, where I add some minor features and completely rewrite the app, so it is easier to add new features in the future.

I think I will have this update published by the end of this month. Then I will move on to implementing other features (multiple file selection, folders, sharing progress, etc).

So I think some of these features will be available in about a month after the v3 update.

I think I will have this update published by the end of this month.

Try for better design otherwise consider about above UI, it's very user friendly,

  • For display connected/disconnected clients (and move between them)
  • Chat perfectly
  • See and check shared history and sharing files for each devices

Then I will move on to implementing other features (multiple file selection, folders, sharing progress, etc).

Thank you. Happy to hear ^_^

I am pretty happy with the current UI :) It is minimal and simple

Do you have something specific in mind?

[2.5 interface] Omg! You may see it as minimal but Honestly, we feel if someone develop an alternative better. Feem isn't opensource otherwise i will use it (no any problem in it)

Do you have something specific in mind?

Problems with sharik interface:

  • it's not possible to open a window and keep chat! chat! as feem whenever want (e.g. can send many short or long texts to other devices or even parts of articles or whatever) and scroll & see past history easy or even somedays under dates.
  • No any better interface for see file shared history (only able to view under "latest" area) again feem better, we can view all sent/received file history separately per device
  • No option to view active devices (and past disconnected devices) or move between them then feem has nice interface for it

I'm not telling feem feem ;) You're not copying feem, It's interface exactly similar to most chat apps (similar skype, signal etc) Don't believe? then you can check

That's what i have best in my mind and the recommendation for you :)

Skype based UI is perfect for sharik. @naDevi :+1: current user interface annoying to use. it itself make sharik lack from features

I like the idea of a chat as a way to dynamically exchange files. However, I do no think it is a good idea to have an app based on just that. That's what's so different about sharik - it's supposed to be simple yet flexible
