Having the same issue occasionally when setting S3 objects permissions:

    /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/aws-s3-0.6.2/lib/aws/../../support/faster-xml-simple/lib/faster_xml_simple.rb:162: [BUG] Segmentation fault
    ruby 1.8.7 (2010-06-23 patchlevel 299) [i686-linux]

I've run into this regularly and randomly as well. Very annoying when it occurs during long-running jobs.
