Support binaries for Python 2.6 on Windows

Open kalbermattenm opened this issue 12 years ago • 4 comments

Could it be possible to support Mapnik2 on Windows for Python 2.6. Currently only support for Python 2.7 is given (http://mapnik.org/news/2011/11/29/windows-binaries-progress/). This would be great as the packaging is not as trival as it looks.

Yes, I will try to work on this. I'm not sure when I will have an opening, but I hope within the next couple weeks.

@springmeyer Hi Dane, I was wondering if there was anything I could do to help you for the packaging ? I am not a developper so it will have to be testing or anything else (which does not include any packaging...)

hi @kalbermattenm - finally going to get this working for 2.2 release this week.

Great, supporting Python 2.6 is great news for me!!

We already did something with Python 2.7, but it is completely experimental (and hosted on a side server...), thus unstable (http://sitn.ne.ch/?map_x=547500&map_y=205000&map_zoom=1&map_visibility_OpenStreetMap=true&map_visibility_Cosmetic=true)

As I already said, tell me if I can help in any way!

Thanks a lot
