Failed with Status 429 on Offline download

Open paulsUsername opened this issue 1 year ago • 8 comments

Offline downloads are taking a really long time. Even the shortest downloads are very slow. I am seeing a lot of warings like this:

[Warning, tile_store]: id=324, tag=offline, variant=maps:hiiker-maps.5d86w3u0/ coord=11[11->14]/1000/685 : failed with HTTP status 429 after 1.28213s; delaying for 58.8493s after 1 attempts; 4 downloads waiting

Would you have any insight into what is causing this, and how I can prevent it?

Whats even stranger is the above-mentioned tileset is not even part of my download!

Hey, @paulsUsername thank you for highlighting the issue May you please elaborate on what do you mean under that "tileset is not even part of my download!" and what are you trying to download? Also, it seems that you're hitting rate limit. Rate limits are set on per-token basis so if you make a lot of downloads from several devices with the same it may cause an issue Current limit by default is 2000 requests per minute.

Hey @aleksproger ,

We are seeing this on map style were we have multiple raster sources. It seems to try and download raster sources that are not in the are covered by the download.

It seems its saying "429" but I suspect the actual error is 404.

the biggest negative impact is that it adds minutes to the download:

delaying for 57.1242s after 1 attempts

Is there any option we can pass to reduces the amount of delay time or or the number of retries?
