Flickering heatmap layers

Heatmap layers seems to flicker/disappear at tile level granularity with certain zoom and pitch values. This can be reproduced in the latest gl-js version as well as in the examples web page https://docs.mapbox.com/mapbox-gl-js/example/heatmap-layer/
