MapboxDirections doesn't work with mapbox-gl@^1.11.0

I want to use MapboxDirections, but it seems to have some problems with mapbox-gl@^1.11.0. If i use old version mapbox-gl, it may have problem about marker

After 2 years. still not fixed, I'm using mapbox-gl version 2.7.0 and after npm i @mapbox/mapbox-gl-directions I get this error: Could not resolve dependency: npm ERR! peer mapbox-gl@"^0.41.0 <2.0.0" from @mapbox/[email protected]

Can we at least have an answer and an ETA? Thank you

This seems to be related to this issue: https://github.com/mapbox/mapbox-gl-directions/issues/268

And also there nobody has picked it up to fix.

Almost 3 years now and it is still a current issue. Unbelievable.
