More unique name

"Drawing" is a bit generic for the display name. Perhaps something more descriptive like "Drawing Pad" or "Sketch Pad" would work?

Otherwise I'd be happy to help brainstorm a different new name, if you're interested :)

From my (gitignored) roadmap:

## App name

No because i'm not gnome:

- gnome brush
- gnome painter
- gnome drawings
- gnome paint

No because ugly:

- drawing pad
- sketch/sketching

No because too generic:

- drawing

Maybe acceptable:

- croquis -> microsoft has almost this name for their 1903 screenshot annotation/windows ink app (can't find the actual copyrighted name of the app and i don't have it)
- crayon -> is an english word too, name of some iOS app

Here are random suggestions: Gink Colore Dpict Craya Drawg

no for Gink and Drawg, adding a G to words is outdated

Colore and Craya look like portuguese words for color and crayon, "color" is not accurate, crayon is already a suggestion

Dpict is nice, there is a pun

I really liked croquis btw, because it's a word that appears in different languages with the same meaning. I think maybe dropping the 's'. Google doesn't currently spawn any result for it +software or +app, so even if it's a universal word, it's reasonably unique. The only app I could find with the same name was a hiking app for Android, so I imagine the icon would be enough to disambiguate.

Crayon (or maybe plural Crayons) is the best suggestion so far IMO.

I too like the name "Crayon" :)

A few other suggestions:

-Acryl -Portray -Pictura -Illustra

Among the previous suggestions Crayon is best. However, it's downside is that it is a very specific name as one possible tool for the activity of drawing. If you want to avoid its overly skeuomorphic connotation and if you want to aim for something more generic, yet simple and immediately recognizable my suggestion would be Sheyn which is Yiddish for beautiful.

Possible names in Esperanto:

  • Pentrilo
  • Kanvaso (unfortunately, it slightly refers to KDE)
  • Paletro
