ISIS Sans Annular integration
There is a growing need to analyze an-isotropic 2D data. This involves doing radial sums and annular integration's. Rob already has his own workarounds for this and there are already two algorithms within Mantid which appear to do what is required but have not been scientifically verified.
The two algorithms are RingProfile and RadiusSum which if they work appear to do what the scientists want but initial tests indicate that there own methods may be better. This basically involves sitting down and talking to Rob and Adam.
There may be more information on #8956 and #8957 regarding these algorithms. Also check if we still need code to replicate COLETTE AREA/COMPRESS/PHI commands as mentioned in #4879.

Re-opening as this is still a requirement (at some point) and I've got an email about it recently
This issue has been automatically marked as stale because it has not had activity in 6 months. It will be closed in 7 days if no further activity occurs. Allowing issues to close as stale helps us filter out issues which can wait for future development time. All issues closed by stale bot act like normal issues; they can be searched for, commented on or reopened at any point. If you'd like a closed stale issue to be considered, feel free to either re-open the issue directly or contact a developer. To extend the lifetime of an issue please comment below, it helps us see that this is still affecting you and you want it fixed in the near-future. Extending the lifetime of an issue may cause the development team to prioritise it over other issues, which may be closed as stale instead.
