Ran from floppy written with prebuilt floppy.img
Program seems to wrongly initialize graphics?
Specs of machine: Intel Pentium 133MHz 80MB RAM (16+32*2) Trident Cyber9385 video controller with 2MB of VRAM 1024x768 12,1" TFT display
Interesting.
If you used the prebuilt floppy.img, that means you used the build based on the main branch. Could you check it with the newer modern_fix branch? (compiled img can be found here https://github.com/maniekx86/stillalive-os/issues/7#issuecomment-2002019679)
I haven't had time to fully test the modern_fix branch lately, so those changes are not in main and there is no release yet.
formatted floppy, written image to it. Same result.
I was able to reproduce this problem on PCem with Trident TGUI9440. It does not seem to happen with the TGUI9400CXi.
Now it's time for me to do some research. From my experiments it looks like trying to switch to 8x16 font via INT 10 causes this problem on this graphics.
If I force the fallback 16bpp mode introduced in the modern_fix branch, which includes VGA font in the image, I experience a freeze with PCem (perhaps this is an emulator bug). I don't have any physical hardware to check. So, can you check this build? floppy.img.zip
Laptop did hang and infinitely spin floppy. Had to reset it with special button on back of laptop. same experience 760XL
