Show system updates
System Updates like Security Updates, OS Updates and even iTunes could be displayed inside Latest.
This is possible through the softwareupdate cli. It seems to be not the best idea for all apps from the Mac App Store, since release notes need to be loaded the current way anyways.
So no release notes for system apps but better than nothing.
Have you considered using the App Store URLs to pull release notes? Every page is formatted the same way so I think it would be easy to scrape "What's New", and you could easily localize the info by changing the country code. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/NAME-OF-APP/idXXXXXXXXX
I am using this for "normal" apps already. That way I get the version information as well as the release notes. AFAIK this page is not available for system updates like iTunes or macOS itself.
They do use some sort of standard naming convention https://support.apple.com/en-us/HTXXXXXX, but I can't seem to find that HT# in the softwareupdate cli, although I had never used it before today. Not sure if you're able to extract that number from the App Store...
