Seems like Windows 11 isn't properly supported. I tried out different builds of Win11 without luck but after changing to Win10 no issues at all.

As documented in the README: FLARE-VM should ONLY be installed on a virtual machine.
Seems like Windows 11 isn't properly supported.
FLARE-VM does support Windows 11, but we are not able to test it as well as we test Windows 10. Out automatic testing uses GH runners which only provides windows-2019 and windows-2022, based on Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2022 respectively. I think this versions are similar to Windows 10. In addition, the FLARE team relies ATM on Windows 10, which means I personally do most of my manual testing & installation in Windows 10. I am planing into do more Windows 11 testing in the next months, but I do not have the capacity ATM. So, I do appreciate the bug reports related to Windows 11.
I am not sure though that this issue is related to Windows 11 and how to fix it, as I do not see any error and you have not provided any logs. Please provide all the information required when opening an issue, including the installation logs. Can you also please Install FLARE-VM in Windows 11 without bindiff.vm to verify if the issue is caused by this package and it install correctly otherwise?
Hi,
I'm having the exact same issue. I'm also on Windows 11, VMWare, and I also get stuck on "bindiff.vm has been installed".
bindiff isn't the issue, though. Checking chocolatey.log, what it's actually stuck on is VERBOSE: Perform operation 'Enumerate CimInstances' with following parameters, ''namespaceName' = root\cimv2,'className' = Win32_Product'.
Task manager shows 0% CPU usage for choco.exe, so it isn't doing anything.
If you need more details I'm happy to provide them.
Thanks for the extra details @hnielsen123. @d35ha @emtuls are you able to reproduce this error?
I am wondering if this is due to vcredist140 taking an extended period of time to install.
My bindiff.vm failed to install due to https://github.com/mandiant/VM-Packages/issues/1440, in which I also noticed a VERY extended length of time to install binaryninja.vm, which installs vcredist140 indirectly. I thought the install was stuck/failed as well, but after letting it sit for a while, my VM eventually restarted and continued the install. Sometimes it seems like also need to press enter in the powershell terminal to make things keep going (not sure why).
Could you provide the entire choco log if possible @hnielsen123 or @Bekobii ?
