Board and DAPLink does not show up at all on Mac

Using the provided or any USB-C to USB-A cable, the board does not show up at all on the latest Macs. Tried 2019 16 inch Macbook pro, 2018 15 inch Macbook pro, both on MacOS 10.15.3.

The board does work and show up if we use a USB-C to USB-C cable and connect directly to the Macbook Pro, or if it's connected through a powered USB Hub. Any idea on why it does not work through a standard USB Hub using the C to A cable?

This may be a compatible issue, as the nRF52840-MDK has a builtin USB hub to support DAPLink's USB and nRF52840's USB. It doesn't work on my surface book either.
