The motherboard is open source, so the firmware chooses its own preferences. The customer used a lot of comparison seems to be grbl firmware, marlin should also be possible

I have searched the internet to find out more information about MKS-DLC but without big success. Your github repo contains only windows driver software, hex files and some old grbl software for uploading to arduino but nothing about your MKS-DLC v2.0 board Mostly what you find are seller of some MKS variants and some conflicting pinouts for connecting to various CNC/3Dprinter hardware all in Chinese with some automatic English translations which, btw, are quite poor. The page should have a picture of the pin pin, or it is not clear enough, you can check the arduino inside, which part of the firmware corresponds to what pin. It can be seen in arduino.
