MKS WIFI TFT (esp-12s) Web View File?
I have this board hooked up to at MKS TFT28 display board and it is working.
But there is an item on its web page I cannot find any information on (its IP address and no ports specified)
It's called "Web View" and its asking fro a file to upload.
What is this?
What does it do?
Where do I find this file?
Thanks!!!
This function is not yet available.
But you display it anyway. Nice! Glad you're not writing code for self-driving cars...
Dear ZhuDaHai,
Did you manage to send a gcode through wifi?
For me, it keeps disconnecting at random points.
I am using an MKS TFT32 with MKS WiFi Module. Connected to an MKS Sbase v1.3 board
Any progress here ? Currently the wifi module is just useless - since i cannot be used to act as a stable wifi->serial bridge to be used for stable host-based printing. Nobody wants chinese handy apps or cloud based printing or such nonsense. But people would love to be able to connect multiple printers to a single controller instance (e.g. repetierserver etc).
I think you are going the very very wrong route in development : Try to get the firmware as open as possible (other manufacturers are able to do so also, so why aren`t you?) and do a sane priority-based developement.. proper and stable wifi->serial bridge is the #1 usecase for the module and it just doesnt work. Ridicoulus.
I know it has only been 18 months since this was first asked about, and I see the current firmware is showing the same web view option, is there any progress on this, or should this just be commented out of the release builds until it has been implemented.
Hi/ Everyone really needs the function of copying files to the SD card.
That would be the ideal scenario.
So.. 2020.. any progress for the esp12s?
This is not a real screen, it was my wish.
I tried another ESP 3D project, but it didn't get full support for MKS TFT. It is very promising to use without TFT at all.
I just setup my wifi-module as AP, SSID & PW to my local nw, then somewhere I read it can be accessed through port 8080.
Read the IP-address on the display (IP from DHCP on local nw).
Using telnet
I can get a ping response from it, it appears to connect using telnet, but, does not respond to g28 or any other GCODE commands. Which version of firmware you running?
All commands must be in capital letters G28 and response is OK Telnet was also setup to echo its own characters, and ensure to use port 8080 for telnet.
I hope this helps. I guess you have a useable display, and by that connection to control board works. If still doesn't works try see if it has updated the WiFi-modules firmware, it should rename the file to MKS_WIFI_CUR, I guess you know this, but worth to test. Display shows 1.0.6, and runs with both smothieware and recently changed to Marlin-2( as they support lpc1768).
Any update on that functionality?
I keep having the same problem. My wifi is connected, but the web view file is not uploaded.
Yea… the only reason I bought the WiFi was to be able to have the machines file system as a networked drive, that I can access from the computers on my network, to transfer/remove files for execution at the machine…. At this point, I haven’t found a workaround, or any way to even see the sd card on the machine..
kinda silly…. That’s the purpose of this chip, isn’t it? ANY other WiFi capable device on my network, I can access its file system…
I agree with one of the previous posts…. Nobody wants to be locked in to a buggy Chinese app with poor interface, and I’ve NEVER understood why you’d want a cloud based printing setup..
