🚀 Feature: Creation of Teams to manage smaller size companies
Not having teams like in Linear it's an issue and here's why...
If your team has 5-10 people, but it has several projects, you need to create a Cycle for each project, this structure requires having a Project Leader that actually takes ownership of the Project and takes the responsibility of managing the Project, when for small teams, it's not really needed, since the same person can just handle several projects.
If you can have a Cycle for a team, like Engineering, you could just add issues from different projects into the same Cycle, without needing to doit for each project (you ended up with cycles for projects with only one issue on it). This will also improve the way you access the status of the teams, like with Engineering, you can understand what is being done by the whole team in just one quick overview.
Also this bothers Support and QA, since they have to be navigating between projects to create tickets in Triage, because all project have their own Triage, instead of the team having it.
Hi @mattgle,
We're excited to share that we're actively working on the Teams feature, which is expected to be released by October, if not sooner. In addition to Teams, we're building comprehensive analytics around this feature and planning to introduce Team cycles as well.
Our approach to Teams will be distinct from Linear's, and we'll be sharing more details on this soon. Stay tuned for updates!
Thank you for your patience and support.
We are almost in December, any updates on this?
@sabgaby, thanks for checking in. we've gone through extensive research on teams implementation, actually going through five iterations before finalizing the approach. happy to share that we've now completed our PRDs and designs, and engineering has already started work.
our key focus has been on making it both simple and powerful - something that works seamlessly for small teams while scaling well for enterprise use cases. we've tested these concepts with various stakeholders and received positive feedback across the board.
this feature is expected to ship early December.
