Images Field of view.

Open elientumba2019 opened this issue 4 years ago • 1 comments

Hello. Thank you for releasing the dataset to the public.

I have the following questions:

  1. What is the Field of view that was used when the images were rendered?
  2. What type of light sources were used? point light source or distant light source?
  3. Could you please provide the exact light location? (x,y,z) coordinate.

Thank you.

Hello Glad you find the dataset useful!

  1. The same FoV was consistently used across all captures. We are keeping most metadata private because the objective is to enable single-image relighting, see point 3 below.
  2. The light sources that we used were point light sources, omni-directional point light sources. And this is consistent across all captured scenes and capture settings.
  3. We tried to keep the light source location relative to the scene consistent across the dataset. The environments in unreal engine come at different scales, and so we had different scale normalizations to have more consistent illumination. The aim is to achieve relighting from a given input image, and in practice one would not be given the location of the light source, which is the reason we do not publish this metadata.

Best regards.
