API ergonomics and documentation

  • EncoderTable probably needs a rework (see wip-rework branch).
  • EncoderTable stuff is completely undocumented
  • No examples
  • raw API is quite inconvenient (and also there's no reason it's still called compress2)
    • raw API is obviously allowed to be less convenient than the framed API, but I'm not happy with its current state
