Linux packages build

Open mikhailnov opened this issue 8 years ago • 3 comments

Can you please build Linux packages (.deb, .rpm) in addition to your binary installer? Binary installer is Windows way and should not be used in Linux environment because the packages manager does not know about ICQ installed, and it cannot be removed properly.

Thanks for reporting. As a matter of fact, we don't have an installer for linux at all. We have an updater, which is downloaded from update server and just extracts executable file. Although we have single executable application with minimum dependencies, we consider an option of providing the package.

A repsitory for updating the client not by itself but from a repository will also be a very good idea for Linux.
