Improve Temporary Email Aliases: Editable Descriptions and Unlimited Lifespan
Summary
I would like to suggest two improvements to the handling of temporary email aliases:
The ability to edit the description of an alias after it has been created. An option to make aliases truly unlimited in lifespan, instead of the current 10-year maximum. My typical workflow involves creating a unique alias for each website or service I register with. To speed things up, I often pre-generate a batch of aliases and keep them in my notes for later use. However, once generated, I can no longer add or change their descriptions. This lack of flexibility makes it harder to stay organized, especially when managing aliases outside the web interface.
In addition, while the 10-year expiration period is quite generous, it would be even more helpful to have the option to create aliases that never expire unless explicitly deleted.
Motivation
These two enhancements would make the alias system significantly more powerful and user-friendly:
Editable descriptions would improve clarity and organization, especially for users who manage many aliases or use external tools and notes. Truly unlimited aliases would provide peace of mind for long-term use cases, such as important or rarely used accounts that should remain reachable indefinitely. Together, these features would provide more control, flexibility, and efficiency for all users who rely on temporary aliases for privacy, security, and organization.

This is a great idea. In addition, it would be very beneficial to enhance the management of temporary aliases from an administrative perspective.
Specifically, it would be helpful to:

Make temporary aliases visible and manageable in the admin interface, not just within the individual user's account.

Allow administrators to create and configure temporary aliases directly from the admin panel without needing to log into the specific mailbox.

- Custom alias
- Custom descriptions
- Defined lifespans (e.g., 1 day, 1 week, 3 months, 1 year, lifetime)
- Tags or labels for easier tracking and filtering
These features would streamline the workflow for administrators managing multiple users, improve security through better oversight, and help with organizing aliases used for specific projects, campaigns, or temporary access needs.
