64bit windows on 32bit UEFI Tablet with x64 CPU
Making this so developer of Quibble be aware this issue.
Intel [Silvermont] -based [Bay Trail] / [Cherry Trail] Tablets have 32bit UEFI bios while CPU is 64bit.
Devices like: Acer NP15A Multilaser M8W tablet Asus T100 Lenovo Tab2 Lark 7i win (- I can test) Alcatel plus 10 (- I can test) (running ubuntu 64bit via grub blob)
Here on github you can find project "EFI boot blob and build scripts for devices using IA32 UEFI" aka "bootia32-efi" or "bootia32-efi AsusT100" You have also superuser tutorial with I386-Grub-efi as "[Installing Windows x64 on 32-bit UEFI (EFI-IA32) via GRUB]"
Q: Why waste time? A: The grub way not always work and i find this quibble project so i suggests. Also I was dissapointed that devices i have are 64bit but BIOS support only 32bit systems (bootia32.efi) in era that 64bit OS is norm.
Duplicate of https://github.com/maharmstone/quibble/issues/2.
Duplicate of #2.
Thank you for reply Yes... That one is closed, and was in year 2020 when 32bit Win10 still has support and W11 not EXIST.
I will not post this IF = Tablet i have had (legacy Bios) CSM support (witch lacks in uEFI v2.40 that runs in) IF i will be able to enable CSM, then i can run DUET + REFIND to boot EFI 64bit OS like W11.
Friend have 1st gen intel laptop with 2GB RAM that has no uEFI and he show me that he CAN boot W11 w/o problem via DUET.
I know i can use 64bit Linux with that Grub trick but i was not aware that tablet with 64bit CPU is CRIPPLED with 32bit uEFI.
Regards
Hi, is there any news about 64-bit Windows on 32-bit UEFI for tablets? I saw the grub method, but everything is explained very vaguely in those methods. Could anyone help me with this please? Thank you very much.

No not really. It was just taged as duplicate while this is more relevant in 2025 that in year 2020. If this was some hackintosh issue it will be solved already...
One of the things I'd like to do with this project is add a mode where it uses kexec rather than UEFI, which would have the side-effect of sorting this problem.
that would be great 🙌
If that happens, you can count on me as your test subject. 💖
