BSOD when starting BTRFS Balance killed partition

I started a Balance operation with musage and dusage limited to.. I think 70 or so. The second I clicked start, my system bluescreened, showing btrfs.sys as the culprit, resulting in a damaged partition.

This has already happened to me when starting a scrub on the same partition months ago. Is there anything I can provide to stop this from happening again? I have a full backup but others might not.

Curiously, I was able to perform a balance on a different drive JUST before.

Lemme check. The bluescreen got stuck at 100% and I had to press the reset button after a few minutes

Edit: oops, I'm still on 1.7.7 :/ But there SHOULD not be anything balance related according to the changelog? Edit2: If you need any system information, I'll be happy to provide it

hmm the same thing happened to me today and i got a very similar error unfortunately i do not have a dump
