Sensor only showing 1M

Open gberl001 opened this issue 2 years ago • 6 comments

The situation: I set up my Emporia Vue and apparently hadn't fully seated one of the connections. I hadn't noticed until I saw there was no sensor number 10. I plugged it in and reloaded, also restarted HASS but it has only ever added one sensor 10 1MIN, I can't see a 1D or 1MON for this sensor.

I tried deleting the integration, though only from the Integrations page, not the HACS page so I'm not sure if there is some cached data somewhere that wasn't cleared that might help this situation.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Update, I had a hunch that it was related to the usage. I only turned the microwave on briefly to confirm that was the circuit. So I thought maybe it was only loading 1M since there was only that brief indication of usage. I have been running the fan on the microwave for a few minutes, hit reload, and now the three expected sensors are showing up.

This could be total coincidence but I tried reloading and restarting repeatedly as well as waiting for up to 30 minutes but the sensors never showed. I haven't looked through your code but there is a good possibility this is part of the issue.

Maybe during the initial setup, all three values are loaded but subsequent reloads are dependent on usage... In any case, I hope this helps make the integration better or at the very least, helps someone with the same issue. Thanks for your contributions and creating this project.

How long did you wait between getting the connection fixed and reloading the integration? It may not have had enough data loaded into the Emporia Cloud for the daily/monthly sensors to populate. Wait a little bit, make sure they show up in the app when you swap to viewing daily/monthly usage, then reload the integration. Each sensor is set up from a different API call and if there's no data in the cloud for one it won't show up in the API response at all.

It was probably about 10 minutes between fixing the connection, opening the Emporia app and seeing the sensor, before I reloaded the integration. When that didn't work I restarted HASS, and when that didn't work I waited another 15-20 minutes, reloaded and restarted again, still nothing.

That's when I started the microwave fan, waited a few minutes, then reloaded and they were there. Must have been that there was no data in the cloud.

I have seen the same issue, it appears that sensor that have no data at the time of the restart are not loaded.

I am having this same issue with two sensors, they weren't fully seated when I first setup the integration and now I only get the 1MIN entity. I have tried reloading the integration, restarting HA and tried deleting the integration and re adding it. So far the missing entities have not shown up.

I waited an hour and reloaded the missing entities now appear.
