Cannot select attribute to export

I can't exclude some attributes from CSV file with with all products. Checkboxes don't work properly.

Preconditions Magento 2.4.2 mysql Maria db 10.3 PHP 7.4 Steps to reproduce Make sure you have products in your Magento 2. Create a couple of custom attributes (color, size for example). Not sure this field is required. I think this bug will reproduced without custom attributes.

Go to BO-> System -> Data Transfer (Export).

Choose: Entity Type select = Products Export File Format = CSV Fields Enclosure = unchecked I tried to set checkbox on SKU field for example. Expected result I should get CSV file wihout SKU column (see the screenshot attached below). Actual result All attribute is being included on csv files besides the selection

Hi @engcom-Delta, To reproduce the issue, you'll need a fresh Magento installation (I'm pretty convinced that this bug is happening on all versions). I'm using sample data. Go to Admin page, System > Export > Select Product on Entity Type. Then, select all attribute but sku and export.

Expected result: A CSV file with sku.

We are able to reproduce the issue in Magento 2.4-develop branch with the given steps. We have also gone through the document, the line mentioned in the document is as follows:

To omit an attribute from the export, select the Exclude checkbox at the beginning of the row. For example, to export only the sku and image columns, select the checkbox of every other attribute. The column appears in the export file, but without any values.

Hence confirming the issue.

Thank you for your valuable contribution. The Adobe Commerce Engineering team has reviewed the issue, and noticed that this is default behaviour of Magento.

Explanation:

SKU is a permanent/mandatory column in Magento 2 product export. The attribute selector only affects exportable EAV attributes; permanent/system fields like sku are always included. So seeing sku in the CSV even when “excluded” is expected behavior.
