Mapper does not work properly
If your mapper presets do not work, or the delete function or something strange regarding the mapper, do following:
- Update the CP to the newest version as described here: https://vimeo.com/187539934
- Update the Mapper
- Hit Factory Preset
- Reboot
If there is still something strange, please tell me, I can only fix bugs if I know them :-) If you find a bug and fixed it yourself, please contribute!
I've followed provided steps and still I couldn't make mapper to work properly. I figured out that key bindings differs from ones that has original PiMapper. For example shortcut 'i' does not show layer info, but key 'c' works that way. I spent some time trying to find proper shortcuts using keyboard connected via USB, and found out that everything works fine, only keymap is different. Has PocketVJ been purposely written to interpret those shortcuts that way? Could you give me a hint how to remap PocketVJ's PiMapper?
I made custom shortcuts, do you want to compile a special version ofxPiMapper? Otherwise you dont have to compile, just hit "update mapper".
If you want to change the shortcuts by yourself, do it in /src/Application/Application.cpp and in src/Application/Modes/ProjectionMappingMode.cpp But there is the possibility that kris made massive changes.... report back!
I figured out that I skipped a step where I should install virtual keyboard a'ka fsayskeyboard, and that's why there was no panel response :x After I installed it, the mapper panel kinda works, but the problem is that there are enormous lags. In addition it keeps repeating last sent input once in a while even though I'm not clicking any button, it stops after one or two minutes. I tested 'fsayskeyboard' through ssh and it works well. Any idea why using PocketVJ's mapper panel lags so badly?
'journalctl -a' outputs following after clicking "Move Big Right" and then "Move Big Down":
Apr 26 13:26:33 raspberrypi sudo[927]: www-data : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/var/www ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/var/www/sync/mapperrightbig
Apr 26 13:26:33 raspberrypi sudo[927]: pam_unix(sudo:session): session opened for user root by (uid=0)
Apr 26 13:26:37 raspberrypi ntpd_intres[746]: DNS 3.debian.pool.ntp.org -> 149.202.97.123
Apr 26 13:26:49 raspberrypi sudo[943]: www-data : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/var/www ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/var/www/sync/mapperdownbig
Apr 26 13:26:49 raspberrypi sudo[943]: pam_unix(sudo:session): session opened for user root by (uid=0)
Apr 26 13:26:52 raspberrypi sudo[943]: pam_unix(sudo:session): session closed for user root
Apr 26 13:26:52 raspberrypi lighttpd[756]: /opt/fsayskeyboard: no process found
PS In case you remapped the keys on purpose, it would be great if help/info panel would dislay correct keybindings, because right now it shows the old ones.
Could you figure out something about the lag, I still have sometimes lag in mapper remote control and do not know why exactly. Appreciate any hint!
BTW. Mapper with correct Keybinding is here: https://github.com/magdesign/ofxPiMapper
Toggle perspective doesn't do any effect on gridwarp. Try with this:
- create a new "gridwarp plane"
- add a new row
- move some points The video inside is spidery like in the video tutorial mapping2.
- click on perspective Nothing happens and the video doesn't modify like in the tutorial
Toggle perspective only works on quads. If you need a "grid", cut your video in several quads.
