Yes i was wrong, i mean ofono version 2.2. As the Pinephone it is the only viable phone for maemo in USA.
what pinephone-specific stuff is there between 1.34 and 2.2? many distros seem to have migrated to ModemManager instead, so I wonder if much has changed in ofono regarding pinephone
the version in leste is a bit stuck on 1.34 for now, in part due to the motorola droid 4 support patches. they'd need to be forward-ported to 2.2 first, before the upgrade you request can be done.
also, ofono 2.2 might refuse to build on Leste/Devuan out of the box, so there likely would be a need to start packaging our own ell too.
all this is not impossible work, but i guess it would need to be evaluated against the benefits, hence i ask what is there for pinephone in 2.2 ...
Yeah, we'll get to this eventually. I don't know if anything big changed in ofono that caused them to increase the version, of if they just decided to change the version.

quite a few things changed, yes. i should try and cherry-pick the droid4 patches on 2.2 to see what happens. i've been working on ofono myself recently, for some N900-related issues (https://lore.kernel.org/ofono/[email protected]/T/#u)
