Disappearance of notes

Open CompletelyExhausted opened this issue 7 months ago • 3 comments

When upgrading from 1.11.0 to 2.0.0, all notes disappeared. Is it possible to recover them? I did not make a backup. And the notes were very important...

Hi! I'm really sorry for that, I tried making the updating process as smooth as possible, but I guess a bug still managed to break something...

So the app starts, right? In that case, can you check if the auto backup is enabled in the settings?

Also, can you save the logs file from Settings > Help and send it here?

I've also had my notes disappear from the app- I've exported the logs but they are empty sorry. If you have any advice on how to recover my notes, it would be much appreciated.

My backup location listed in the app is data/user/0/com.maelchiotti.local/app_flutter/backups, which either does not exist or I do not have access to.

Thanks in advance!

I'm surprised the logs are empty, this makes it hard to understand what happened...

This backup location is the default one. Sadly, it's a hidden directory that is not easy to access for you... Android restricts where I have write permission very stricly, so I can't use a better one by default. Also if you uninstall the app this directory is deleted and all the backups deleted with it, so make sure you don't uninstall it.

I can describe to you how to access that hidden folder if you're a little bit tech savy. Otherwise, I can quickly make a version of the app just for you that allows you to get those backups from the app directly.
