[Request] Unit tests

Description

This extension being widely used, I think it could benefit some unit testing. It will make the implementation of new features and refactoring easier. And why not migrate to .net 6 afterwards?

I'd gladly work on this. I'm used to xUnit and FluentAssertions but I'm open to any suggestions.

Unit testing would be awesome. xUnit rocks. FluentAssertions is cool too. Go for it!!
