Control-triggering contextual menu on OS X results in control key getting "stuck"

On Mac:

  1. key.control // false
  2. Hold down the control key, and click on the body of your webpage
  3. Release the control key
  4. Click on the body of your webpage to dismiss the contextual menu
  5. key.control // true <= oh oh!
